Connect Notion to GTD Brain
If you run GTD in Notion, start with the free GTD Weekly Review template: the five lists and a weekly-review checklist, laid out the way GTD Brain's own board is. It works on every Notion plan, on its own, with nothing to connect.
GTD Brain adds what a Notion page cannot do by itself: an assistant that runs the review with you, list by list, and capture from wherever you are. On Notion's Business and Enterprise plans, Notion AI connects to GTD Brain directly over MCP (Model Context Protocol). On any plan, ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Cursor do.

- For a direct Notion AI connection: a Business or Enterprise Notion workspace whose admin allows custom MCP servers. On other plans, any MCP-capable assistant works instead.

Step-by-step setup
Add the template to your Notion
Open GTD Weekly Review on the Notion Marketplace and add it to your workspace. You get one page with the five lists, a few sample cards, a Weekly Review checklist, and a Connect GTD Brain page with these same steps.
Create your free GTD Brain account
Sign in with the code we email you — no password, nothing to install. Your board starts with the same five lists as the template.
Connect Notion AI (Business or Enterprise plans)
In Notion, open Settings → Connections → Discover and click “Add Custom MCP” — a workspace admin has to allow custom MCP servers first. Paste the connection address below, sign in with your email code, and click Allow. Then ask Notion AI: “Run my GTD Brain weekly review”.

What you can do once connected
Once an assistant is connected, the weekly review stops being a page you scroll and becomes a conversation that reads every list for you. Things people actually say:

Every change lands on the same board as the web, iOS, and Android apps — instantly. And whatever you ask, cards can be archived but never deleted, so nothing is ever lost to a misfired prompt.
Troubleshooting
“Add Custom MCP” is missing in Notion.
It only appears on Business and Enterprise workspaces, and only after a workspace admin allows custom MCP servers under Settings → Connections. On Free and Plus plans, connect ChatGPT or Claude instead — the template itself works on every plan.
Notion AI answers from the template pages instead of GTD Brain.
Name the connection: “use GTD Brain to check my inbox”. Once it has used the connection in a conversation, follow-ups stay grounded in your real board.
I added the template but I don't see the GTD Brain link.
Open the Connect GTD Brain page inside the template — it is the second sub-page, right under the Weekly Review checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Is the template free, and do I need GTD Brain to use it?
Yes, and no. The template is free on the Notion Marketplace, asks for no email, and is a complete GTD setup on its own. GTD Brain is the optional part that lets an assistant run the review with you and capture from other apps.
Do my Notion lists sync with my GTD Brain board?
Not automatically. A Notion template is pages and databases; it cannot call another app on its own, so the two boards stay separate. They share the same five lists and contexts, so a card moves across as a copy and paste — and many people keep Notion for the review checklist and GTD Brain as the board. If a real sync would matter to you, tell us at admin@minosin.com.
Is it safe to let an AI assistant touch my GTD board?
The connection is deliberately limited: your assistant can read, add, edit, move, and archive cards, but it can never delete one. Archived cards stay recoverable, so nothing is ever lost to a misfired prompt. You can disconnect at any time from the assistant's connector settings.
Do I need a paid GTD Brain subscription?
You can try it free: after connecting, your assistant can create your first 3 cards on a free GTD Brain account. Ongoing use of the connection needs a GTD Brain subscription — the same one subscription that covers the web, iOS, and Android apps.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants securely talk to outside tools and data. GTD Brain hosts an MCP server, so any MCP-capable assistant — ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, and others — can work with your board without a plugin or API key.
Do changes made by the assistant sync to my other devices?
Yes. The assistant works on the same board as the web, iOS, and Android apps, and every change syncs in real time. Add a card from a chat and it is on your phone before you switch apps.
